Endicott College Performing Arts Department Presents: Quartet For-Te: Fridays at the Rose

BEVERLY – The lunch hour music series, Fridays in the Rose, is back, and this one promises to be a full meal of music! The Quartet For-Te featuring Professor Lauren Lee, violin; Caroline Lieber, violin; Dayla Stoerzbach, viola; and John Bumstead, cello, will perform a program entitled Oppression and Liberation of the Human Spirit on Friday, April 12 from 12:00-12:50 p.m. in the Rose Performance Hall, Center for the Arts at Endicott College. The famous Dmitri Shostakovich String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, op. 110 will illustrate oppression, having been inspired by the bombing of Dresden, Germany in WWII. The more optimistic String Quartet No. 1 in G minor Op. 27 of Edvard Grieg features folklore and a message of hope.

The concert is followed by a complimentary light appetizer lunch in the adjacent Carol Grillo Gallery. Attendees can meet the performers and enjoy exhibits in the Center for the Arts.
