Montserrat College of Art Founding Faculty Member Reno “Ray” Pisano Visits Beverly for an Artist Talk

One of Montserrat's founding faculty member's Ray Pisano will visit Beverly for an artist talk, Monday, April, 22, 6:30–9pm, on the making of large-scale sculpture at the Beverly Public Library.

Montserrat College of Art is pleased to announce that one of its founding faculty member’s Reno “Ray” Pisano, of Nahant, will visit campus for an artist talk Monday, April, 22, 6:30 – 9 p.m. Pisano will be giving a presentation on the making of large-scale sculpture at the Beverly Public Library Sohier Room, 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA. http://www.beverlypubliclibrary.org/pisano/

 

Pisano will discuss the methods of how marble and granite models are made, enlarged and copied. He will also elaborate on how the Lincoln Memorial was created from an original 5 foot model, enlarged to become a 19 foot sculpture and transported from New York to Washington D.C. in 22 separate pieces.

Pisano was born in 1923 in Lynn and began sculpting at about the age of 12. He works in marble, granite, resins, wood and classic bronze casting.
