Share Your Opinion on the Rantoul Street Reconstruction Project

Attend the May 30th meeting at City Hall and share your thoughts about what you'd like to see on the "new" Rantoul Street.

Representatives from the MA Dept of Transportation and Dewberry Construction are coming to share with us the 25% design plan for the Rantoul Street reconstruction. This is a complete renovation of Route 1A from the base of the bridge to the Memorial Building at 502 Cabot Street. The work covers the street, sidewalks, utilities, lighting, landscaping, streetscape elements, etc. - pretty much everything between the buildings on both sides of the street.

City officials have been working with the state for many years to get funding for this project so kudos to the Mayor and his staff! The 25% design stage actually means that 75% of the design has been completed, so this could be your last chance to advocate for improvements you'd like to see. While the term "transformative project" is often over-used, this one really has that potential! We encourage you to attend the meeting and share your thoughts about what you'd like to see on the "new" Rantoul Street. Here are the details:

Thursday, May 30
7-9pm
City Hall - Council Chambers on the 3rd floor

If you have specific questions or comments you want to discuss ahead of time, email Eric Barber (ebarber@beverlyma.gov) in the city's Engineering Department (with "Route 1A project" in subject line) or call him at 978.605.2360.

We hope to see you on May 30!
