Cabot Partners With North Atlantic Dance Theatre

From The Cabot: The Cabot is pleased to announce a producing partnership with New England-based dance company North Atlantic Dance Theatre (NADT), resulting in two productions to be presented at the renowned Beverly venue: The Little Mermaid on May 24-25 and The Nutcracker in December.

“We’re always looking to keep our line-up of performances varied and exciting for our audiences here at The Cabot, and ballet is not something we see here often,” said J. Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot. “Given their prestigious talent and North Shore roots, NADT is the best partner to bring ballet to our stage, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about our new collaboration.”

In its fourth season of performances in Beverly, the company's repertoire has offered the North Shore residents a chance to see high caliber ballet outside of Boston. The Little Mermaid is NADT’s newest work and marks their first production co-produced with The Cabot. Past NADT productions include Cinderella, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Les Sylphides, contemporary works and their annual production of their modern day Nutcracker.

“At [NADT], keeping our art form fresh for our audiences as we create and recreate new and original works of art can only be made possible with the frequent collaboration we have with our dancers, choreographers, musicians, visual artists and, of course, the community,” said Lucy Warren-Whitman, Artistic Director and Founder of NADT. “We are so excited to bring our works to the illustrious Cabot stage and invigorate its audiences with new experiences in the ballet world.”

The Little Mermaid will be performed at The Cabot on Friday, May 24th at 5:00pm and Saturday, May 25th at 1:00 pm. Dates for The Nutcracker will be announced over the summer. Tickets can be purchased at thecabot.org.
