BEVERLY, MA — The Cabot Theater's slow return to life will kick into high gear in August with the resumption of a full indoor programming schedule for the first time since the onset of the coronavirus crisis forced it to close its doors in March 2020.

The century-old theater, which began showing indoor movies again in May with "Jaws" screenings and has moved some Porch Sessions indoors because of rain this summer, will begin its full lineup of music, comedy and movies next week.

"It has been quite the journey getting to this point," said Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot. "A year ago in August, we weren't sure what our future would look like, and what it would mean for live arts and entertainment. With our socially distanced movie screenings, and having a few of our Porch Sessions shows moved indoors, we've been able to give ourselves time to prepare.
