BEVERLY, MA —Beverly's Cabot Street Cinema Theater is planning to celebrate its "Big Night" in a big way with two major acts taking to the historic stage this spring.

Cabot Executive Director Casey Soward said on Monday that Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live and Mavis Staples will perform at "The Cabot's Big Night" on April 14. The event is a major fundraiser in support of the theater's campaign to raise $9.5 million to complete full renovations of the 101-year-old theater.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. with a limited number of tickets available to the public beginning this Friday at 10 a.m.

This will be the first time since 2019 that the theater is set to be open in April for musical acts after being closed in the spring for the past two years of the coronavirus health crisis.

"The Cabot's Big Night is a night of celebration — not just of The Cabot, but of music, and of our shared history with our North Shore community," Soward said. "We would not be here, welcoming such tremendous talent to our stage, without the love and support of our community.

"We just celebrated our 101st birthday in December, and we will be here for 101 more. We hope everyone will come out for this grand evening as we usher in a new era for The Cabot and our community with fabulous musical guests."

Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live is a modified version of the national touring combination of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks that typically plays much larger entertainment venues.

Staples is a Blues and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer; a civil rights icon, a GRAMMY Award-winner, a chart-topping soul/gospel/R&B pioneer; a National Arts Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient and a Kennedy Center honoree.

She marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., performed at John F. Kennedy's inauguration and sang in Barack Obama's White House.

A presale for Cabot Club members begins Wednesday. There will also be sponsorships and VIP packages available, which will include access to a private party before the show. More information on "The Cabot's Big Night" will be updated here.
