From Billy Beer to Blatz; From Harvard Ale to Haffenreffer, From Ballantine to Black Label, join us via Zoom for an entertaining journey through the history of the beer can. Kevin Logan, Curator of the Beer Can Museum, will share a presentation covering the challenges and innovations that led to the eventual canning of beer following Prohibition in 1933. An impressive assortment of cans from the museum, based in Southeastern Massachusetts, including some of the very first beer cans, will be shared. Novelty cans, folk art, tv and movie props, and more will be included. During this family-friendly presentation you'll enjoy history, art, humor, and some pop culture themes surrounding beer cans, with a special focus on some famous—and not so famous—New England breweries. A Q&A will follow the presentation.

Kevin Logan is the Curator of the Beer Can Museum, located in East Taunton, Massachusetts. The museum is a unique collection of thousands of beer cans from more than 80 countries, and includes folk art, vintage cans from the early days of beer can production, classic beer advertising, and novelties. The museum has been featured in Travel & Leisure, Chronicle, radio programs and several travel books, including Massachusetts Curiosities (Globe Pequot Press) and Massachusetts Treasures (University of Massachusetts Press).
