Featuring headliner Frank Vignola, who has shared the stage with legends like Robin Williams, Chris Rock, and Joan Rivers; feature act Moody McCarthy, recently selected to open for Sebastian Maniscalco; and opening act Lydia Kraniotis, who has opened for Jimmie “JJ” Walker. Dolan Performing Arts Center

The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras presents An Afternoon of Spring Concerts on Sunday, May 17, at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 130 High Street, in Ipswich, MA. The 2:00 pm concert features the NMYO Prelude String Ensemble, Overture String Ensemble, and Intermezzo Orchestra. The 4:00 pm concert features NMYO’s advanced ensembles: Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. The concerts will include both classical and modern music including works by Holst, John Williams, Tchaikovsky, and more. The concerts will also be live-streamed on NMYO’s YouTube channel. To watch from the comfort of your home, visit nmyo.org and click the link on the Home Page to see the concert in real time. We know a lot about the pivotal year 1776 in American history: from the&nbsp;British evacuating Boston in March, to the signing of the Declaration of&nbsp;Independence in the summer, to the cold, starving Continental army&nbsp;troops surprising the Hessians at Trenton, NJ on Christmas Day. But what&nbsp;do we really know about what it took to provision an eighteenth-century&nbsp;army with virtually no government infrastructure, funds, or military&nbsp;administration? Come learn how the Huntingtons and their maritime&nbsp;associates, facilitated the transfer of Continental army troops, and&nbsp;equipment, from Massachusetts down to Manhattan throughout 1776.&nbsp;Discover how savvy ship captains shuttled these men, and goods, at&nbsp;Norwich’s wharves at the bequest of the merchant Huntington brothers:&nbsp;Joshua and Andrew. And, how the skilled workers at the docks did their&nbsp;part too. The information presented is based on primary source materials&nbsp;from the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, the Connecticut&nbsp;Museum of Culture and History in Hartford, and online resources.

Open to all writers—fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, journalism, screenwriting, playwriting, novelists, short story writers, and more. Whether you’re drafting your first paragraph or polishing your tenth book, you’re welcome.
Meeting Structure
<ul><li>Introductions (10–15 minutes)Members introduce themselves, their medium(s), and current projects or goals.</li><li>Focused Writing Time (20 - 25 minutes). Dedicated “heads-down” writing session.</li><li>Voluntary WIP Discussion (10–15 minutes)Members may share updates on works in progress, challenges, breakthroughs, or questions for the group. This is discussion-based unless pre-submitted work has been shared.</li><li>Wrap Up (10-15 minutes) Time at the end of the meeting for members to chat and get to know each other a little more. Provides members the opportunity to find: Beta reader sign-ups, Accountability partnerships, Co-writing opportunities, Local creative events, and resources</li></ul>

The Essex Harmony is a Danvers based, secular, mixed voice, chorus. Founded by the late Glenn Mairo in 2006, our repertoire has grown under Tom Carmody’s direction. Our original inspiration, the ‘Singing School’ period of Colonial America (1765 –1835), has been greatly expanded up to and including contemporary American composers. Our mission is to preserve American choral music with emphasis on the Colonial ‘Singing School’ period. Our musical selections are put into context in every performance with a brief narration.

This collective of North Shore original artists, songwriters, and producers came together in 2020 to honor the timeless catalog of the Grateful Dead with a fresh and innovative approach. Dead to the Core celebrates the Dead’s spirit with inspired playing, infused with unrestrained improvisations, and a real good time.
Dead To The Core is The Cut's 2026 Resident Band - they will play a show every month in 2026, culminating with a New Years Eve show on 12/31/26. Don't forget to bring your punch card and get a stamp for each show you attend. Collect them all (Feb-Nov) and get free tickets to the NYE show!
