Enter our literary pumpkin contest! Create a pumpkin with a literary connection whether a character, book cover, scene or author; get creative! 
Drop it off at the Reference Desk at the main library between October 21-23. Pumpkins will be on display on the second floor in front of the Circulation Desk. Voting will be open Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. First place wins a Copper Dog Books gift card. Questions? Contact Graham at ggoss@noblenet.org. Contest rules:
<ul>
<li>No carved pumpkins please.</li>
<li>Entries must reference a work of literature in some way. This can be a book cover, a character, or an author, etc. Be creative!</li>
<li>The artwork must be original.</li>
<li>The entry may include non-pumpkin components, but the main portion of the entry must be a pumpkin.</li>
<li>Pumpkin must be in good condition. Any entries with mold or badly deteriorated will not be accepted.</li>

Ryan Perdz is a 24-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Buffalo, NY. Raised on his grandparents’ family farm, he began teaching himself guitar at age ten and expanded into bass, violin, and mandolin, developing a hands-on approach to songwriting and arrangement.
Influenced by artists such as Nirvana, Chris Cornell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Led Zeppelin, Perdz channels the emotional weight of 90s rock through a modern lens, balancing grit with melody. His music often explores isolation, self-doubt, and perseverance, delivered with a clarity that feels lived-in rather than ornamental.
After independently releasing multiple singles and his First Sight EP an racking up tens of millions of views across social media, Perdz cultivated a loyal audience through consistent self-directed output. In 2025, he signed with Big Machine Rock and began recording his debut full-length album. His growing catalogue of original music has generated millions of streams, and his audience continues to expand across digital platforms as he releases singles from his forthcoming debut, including “Sour” and “Heavy Eyes.”
As he prepares to unveil his debut album, Ryan Perdz stands positioned at the forefront of a new generation of rock artists shaped by both digital culture and classic influences.

We all have a wish to be happy and avoid suffering. Throughout our lives, we travel many different paths driven by this desire: career, relationships, home, vacations, etc. But ultimately, these external paths do not yield the results we seek.
During these introductory Dharma talks and meditation sessions, we will discuss the internal paths that can lead to discovering real happiness and a more meaningful life.
Join longtime Kadampa Buddhist practitioner, Tim Hogarty, to:

Tim frequently makes the commute to KMC Boston to help with special events particularly with the sound desk and to fill in as a guest teacher. Tim lives locally on the North Shore, and is an avid gardener and cook. Enjoys walks with his dog, Boo.

Ross Livermore is a distinguished American musician, singer-songwriter whose innovative approach to contemporary soul and rock music has garnered widespread acclaim since his debut in 2008. Renowned for his distinctive voice and evocative songwriting, Livermore fuses introspective lyrics with compelling melodies to create a sound that is both refreshingly original and deeply rooted in tradition.
Born and raised in Peabody, Massachusetts, Livermore’s musical journey began in his early teens, influenced by a rich tapestry of genres including rock, blues, and R&amp;B. His profound passion for music led him to study at Salem State College, where he refined his skills and cultivated a unique style that would later shape his career. His move to Nashville, TN, marked a pivotal point in his artistic evolution, aligning him with a vibrant music scene that further honed his craft.
Livermore’s self-titled debut album, released in 2010, was met with critical acclaim, establishing him as a notable independent artist. His follow-up albums, including “The Collection” (2014) and “This is Not Forever” (2017), further cemented his reputation as a versatile and skilled musician. His shows, whether in intimate venues or on larger stages, are characterized by their energy, intimacy, and the tangible chemistry between him and his audience. His commitment to his craft and his ability to connect authentically with listeners have made him a standout performer.<h5>Emi McSwain</h5>
Emi McSwain is a singer-songwriter and content creator in Boston, Massachusetts. After receiving her degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music in 2022, she took to Instagram to show Boston’s hidden gems and work to highlight the music scene in the city, and has grown her following to be over 40k.
Her debut EP “Pat’s Class”, released in March 2023 features live-studio recordings of songs she wrote for her final songwriting class at Berklee College of Music, taught by Pat Pattison.
Her debut album “Them Apples”, is set to release September 25th, 2026.
