Northshore author Douglas Wynne celebrates the release of his new rock music themed folk horror novel, Wellspring, with an event at Copper Dog Books in Beverly, MA on Friday, November 6th at 7:00 PM.
Wellspring is the story of three old friends and former bandmates who reunite to search a forbidden forest for a missing companion whose obsession with a dark chapter of rock history led him to a place the locals refuse to speak of. As strange forces close in around the group, they begin to understand why a gifted musician once emerged from those same woods a killer, and why some secrets are better left buried at the bottom of an old stone well.
The release event will feature a live acoustic performance of a song Wynne wrote for the book, followed by a conversation with fellow local author Cat Scully. In advance praise for the book, Scully says, “Wellspring feels like blowing the dust off of your favorite record and discovering a darker song than you were ever meant to hear. Part rock n’ roll epic, part folklore horror, Wynne wrote exactly the kind of book I love to read. I will be recommending Wellspring to everyone I know.”
The book was released by Promethean Publishing on October 26th. For more information, see the author’s web site: http://douglaswynne.com
