Canadian Biotech Opening Lab, Office In Beverly

The LexaGene Holdings Inc. lease of 17,500-square-foot space at Cummings Center will create 20 local jobs.

BEVERLY, MA -- LexaGene Holdings Inc., a Canadian biotech company, will create 20 new jobs in Beverly when it opens a 17,500-square-foot research, development, office and lab space at 500 Cummings Center in Beverly. The Vancouver-based company make a rapid-detection system that can test for pathogens in food safety, veterinary diagnostics and water-quality monitoring settings.

"Beverly and Cummings Center are a particularly ideal location for us, since it allows us to tap into the very talented pool of engineers and scientists in the Boston area," said LexaGene CEO Jack Regan. The 2 million-square-foot Cummings Center campus now has more than 50 life science companies.
