Celebrate Earth Day at the Thrift Shop all month long

The Beverly Bootstraps Thrift Shop will have many upcycled projects in their window during the month of April in honor of Earth Day. A trendy way to be “green” is to recycle and repurpose old, unused objects by creating something new and useful from them. This process is called upcycling and presents unlimited possibilities to the handy and creative. For example, a message center was created by attaching some cork, hooks and a wire basket to an old cabinet door.

All of the projects on display in the Thrift Shop window were created from items typically for sale at the Thrift Shop and will provide inspirational ideas to those interested in trying it out. Bootstraps is also looking for donations of upcycled items that others have made from their Thrift Shop finds to be put on display. If you have one to donate, please drop it by the Thrift Shop at 198 Rantoul Street.

On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, all of these unique treasures will be available for sale. Shopping at and donating to the Thrift Shop are great ways to be green all year long.
