Chalk Damage And More From The Beverly Police Log

People "digging up" the Commons, falling asleep with the water running, and other items from the Beverly Police log.

  • Police responded to Cabot Street and Broadway on Feb. 22, on a report of someone damaging businesses around 5 p.m. Officers found the person used chalk to write on the buildings and sidewalk. The person agreed to remove the chalk.
  • A cab driver brought a drunk passenger to the police station on Feb. 23, around 2 a.m., because the passenger didn't know where she wanted to go and didn't have the money to pay the fare. The cab company said they just wanted to get the passenger to a safe place, and didn't need the fare.
  • Police stopped a driver on Cabot Street on Feb. 24, around 1 p.m., after he didn't stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk between Broadway and Thorndike. The driver yelled at the car going in the opposite direction, which had stopped for the pedestrian, because they signaled for him to stop. The driver who didn't stop told officers he was going to call someone he knew at Rockport Police after he was issued a citation.
  • Matthew Wisniewski, 32, of Peabody, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on Feb. 25 after officers responded to Cabot Street on Feb. 25, around 8 a.m. on a report of three people swearing inside a car.
  • Police responded to the intersection of Essex Street and Peabody Avenue on a report of a man down on the sidewalk on Feb. 25, around 3 p.m. The man admitted to snorting heroin, according to the police log.
  • Officers responded to a call of men "digging up" the Beverly Commons on Feb. 25, around 4:30 p.m.
  • Vanessa Grande, 25, of Beverly, and Liam Mackenzie, 27, of Beverly, were arrested on charges of breaking and entering on Feb. 26, around 7 p.m. after police responded to a Cabot Street business.
  • An apartment on Beverly Commons Drive had some flooding last Wednesday around 1 a.m., after the tenant upstairs fell asleep with the water running.
  • Police stopped a man who had allegedly caused disturbances in two Beverly Farms businesses on Thursday around 9 a.m.
  • Kyle Stephen Medici, 19, of Scituate, was arrested on charges of negligent driving and failing to drive within the marked lanes on Saturday around 6 a.m., after police responded to a report of a car accident with property damage on Hale Street.
  • Officers responded to a report of a "belligerent drunk" in the emergency room at Beverly Hospital on Sunday around 6 p.m.
