Charlie Baker to Stump for St. Hilaire in Beverly

Rally planned for the City Council At-Large candidate

Matt St. Hilaire, a Beverly native and candidate for City Council At-Large, announced that Charlie Baker will be coming to Beverly to join him on the campaign trail.  Baker will participate in a rally for St. Hilaire on Sunday, October 13th at 12:30pm at the Cove Community Center.  The event is free and is open to the public. 

Baker, a Swampscott businessman, recently announced he is running for Governor of Massachusetts in 2014 and is a former state Secretary of Administration and Finance and Health and Human Services and is a former CEO of a health-care organization.

"I'm really excited to have Charlie coming to Beverly to support me."  St. Hilaire said.  "Charlie Baker has a proven track record of getting results and he knows that I am someone who will be able to get things done for Beverly."

St. Hilaire, 36, served as Field Director on Baker's 2010 campaign for Governor.  He also served in the Governor's Office at the State House under Governor Paul Cellucci and has held leadership positions with a number of high profile political campaigns. 

"I've been in the arena and I've gained valuable experience about how government works that I will take with me to the City Council."  St. Hilaire said.   "With all the change happening in our city we need a new generation of leaders with the experience to move Beverly forward in the right direction."

St. Hilaire grew up in Beverly and attended Beverly public schools including Beverly High School where he graduated in 1995.  He is married to a Beverly native, Elizabeth (Dunn) St. Hilaire and together they have three young children.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University and is currently employed as a Recruiter and Social Media Manager in the private sector.

In the 2010 Governor's race Baker carried Beverly defeating Governor Deval Patrick and former Treasurer Tim Cahill in the Garden City.
