CHMWarnick Helps A Bed for Every Child Raise Money to Gift 250 Beds to 250 Children This Holiday Season

CHMWarnick (CHMW), organized an employee event to help A Bed for Every Child's campaign to raise money to gift 250 beds to 250 children

CHMWarnick (CHMW), hotel asset management and owner advisory firm recently organized an employee event to help raise awareness and funds in support of A Bed for Every Child’s campaign to gift 250 Beds to 250 Children this holiday season. A Bed for Every Child was created to help the growing number of children living in poverty get a new bed of their own where they can get a good sleep, an essential ingredient for well-being. Recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau notes that one in seven children in Massachusetts is living in poverty. The initiative, which is part of The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, was founded in 2011 when advocates learned that many students in local public schools were not getting a good night's sleep because they did not have their own bed to sleep in at night.

“Since we launched the program we have distributed over 4,000 new beds to children living in poverty in the Commonwealth,” said Robyn Frost, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. “Unfortunately, the need for beds has outpaced our ability to raise the critically needed funding for this program to expand. With the holiday season right around the corner, A Bed for Every Child created a campaign 250 Beds for 250 Kids this holiday season,” says Frost.

The CHMWarnick team was excited to help raise money for the campaign, which they did through taking photos with a Bed for Every Child’s mascot teddy bear, Tuck, and sharing on social media to create awareness (#ShareTheBear). For every photo employees posted, CHMWarnick made a donation to the cause. Monies raised from its fundraiser will go directly to buy beds for children in need living in Beverly, Massachusetts, home of CHMWarnick’s eastern regional headquarters. “We had so much fun coming together as a team to raise funds for A Bed for Every Child and are happy to help out this holiday season,” says Kristie Dickinson CHMWarnick EVP Business Development & Marketing. “Being in hospitality, our business revolves around strategies for putting heads in beds. This was by far one of the most rewarding examples of our work to date.”

Frost notes that the holiday campaign is the first milestone in a larger campaign to raise money for 1,500 beds over the next year. “We are looking for individuals and businesses to help us reach our goal. We are so grateful to CHMWarnick for its generous donation. This holiday season, help children make their dreams come true by giving them a bed of their very own,” says Frost.
