City Of Beverly: Cabot Street Road Work Begins

Roadwork on Cabot Street, between Pond Street and Federal Street, has begun. Below is the City's best estimate of the timeline for this week:   

• Monday, April 5 - Begin and end cold planing (grinding off top layer of asphalt). Cabot Street closed from Pond Street to Federal Street, traffic detoured off of Cabot Street at West Dane and Bow Street.
• Tuesday, April 6 - Leveling / Grading work. Cabot Street closed from Pond Street to Federal Street, traffic detoured off of Cabot Street at Pond Street and Bow Street.
• Wednesday, April 7 - Full access to Cabot Street.
• Thursday, April 8 - Raising of structures (manhole covers, storm drains, etc.), one lane of traffic on Cabot Street.
• Friday, April 9 -  Raising of structures continued, one lane of traffic on Cabot Street.

NOTE: As with all construction work, timelines can change due to weather and crew availability. Additionally, safety is the City's first priority. The determination of lane closures is made daily by the on-site police detail according to what is safest for the public.
