Comedy at the Cabot - Mike Donovan

Mike Donovan – one of Boston's original great comedians out of the Ding Ho and early Comedy Connection — headlines at The Cabot

Donovan has long been one of the most creative and funniest headliners in the country. Although best known for his sports-related material, Donovan covers a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from pop culture to all nature of human foibles. A native of South Boston, he regularly works the top clubs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and has been featured on The NESN Comedy All-Stars, ESPN’sSportsCenter, Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show Period, and the Showtime network. He was also featured in the Showtime documentary When Standup Stood Out. He has performed in China, where he headlined the “Chopschticks Comedy Tour” in Shanghai and Beijing. The former radio DJ once had his own talk show on Boston radio, and has written stories that have appeared in Sports Illustrated,The Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Patriot Ledger, and others. He is also a history buff, and is currently in the final stages of a book that combines historical anecdotes and comedy, called 101 Stories of American History. Formerly featured as one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” and an episode of the carton Explosion Bus, Matt D. made his debut earlier this year on Conan on TBS. With a deadpan on-stage personality offset by sharp and sometimes twisted material, the L.A.-based comic (originally from New Hampshire) is a festival favorite and a finalist at the Boston Comedy Festival, he’s also had wins or final-round showings in several other contests, including three wins in New Hampshire that earned him the title, “The Funniest Comedian in New Hampshire.” He’s also performed several times at the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival. “I like hearing good jokes,” he told one interviewer. “I also like when you can read a joke on paper and it’s as funny as it is out loud.”

Sullivan is an accomplished and popular stand-up comedian and sketch comedy performer, with loose and unpredictable tendencies that have audience members guessing at what he’ll come up with next. Named as one of Boston’s top comics by The Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Boston Phoenix, the former Late Night with Conan O’Brien intern has also been profiled in The Weekly Dig. he’s performed in the Great American Comedy Festival and on Die Laughing, a 30-minute television pilot produced by Friends co-creator Kevin Bright. He has also appeared on Comedy Central, and has been a two-time semifinalist at the Boston Comedy Festival.

High energy and bombastic, Gill puts a charge into any audience with material that’s fast, loud, sharp and funny. A veteran of the Boston comedy scene, he’s performed in clubs, restaurants and theaters around New England, and shared the stage with top comedians including Steven Wright, Louis C.K., Wendy Leibman, Anthony Clark, Jimmy Dunn, and more. His career highlight? “I told a joke on The Bozo Show as a kid,” he said. “I haven’t been on TV since.”

Cameron performs at comedy clubs and showcases around New England, where he has won over audiences with his unusual take on the world and his oddly charming mannerisms. In addition to placing in the finals of the Witch City (Salem) Comedy Contest and New Hampshire’s Funniest Comic Contest, he has shared the stage with National and New England headliners including Juston McKinney, D.J. Hazard, Frank Santorelli, Dave Russo, Dave Rattigan and Eddie Brill. Cameron is also a member of the comedy troupe Sketchy People.
