Coronavirus Case Postpones Cabot Theater Show Friday Night

Friday's Big Bad Voodoo Daddy show will be rescheduled after a member of the band's touring party tested positive for COVID-19.

Cabot Executive Director Casey Soward told Patch earlier this month he expected show postponements might occur from time to time this fall as the theater welcomed back fans and touring artists to the full indoor theater for the first time in 18 months.

BEVERLY, MA — Those planning to attend Friday night's Big Bad Voodoo Daddy show at the Cabot Street Cinema Theater will have to hold on to those tickets for a later date after one of the band's touring party tested positive for the coronavirus.

The theater said Friday morning that the show was postponed "out of caution for everyone."

"We are working on rescheduling the performance to a new date," the theater said. "All tickets will be honored for the new date. Ticketholders will receive an email with more information and we will update you as we know more."

"Anything can happen," he said. "If somebody in one of the bands or tours gets COVID, we will have to cancel or move a performance. I do expect that to happen at some point. But I do expect, from what the data tells me, we will have a fall season.

"It will be like unlike any fall season we've every hard, but I do think we can do these performances and have them safely."

The theater this month adopted a policy where all performances, crews and guests must either provide proof of coronavirus vaccination or a negative test within the previous 72 hours to attend a show.

TD Garden announced a similar policy this week that goes into effect with the first Boston Bruins preseason game on Sept. 30.
