Court Official Charged With Sending Nude Images To 13-Year-Old

LYNN, MA — An Lynn District Court official was arrested Monday after sending nude images of himself to a 13-year-old girl and requesting photos and videos in return.

Brian Orlandella, 46, of Beverly was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of transfer of obscene material to a minor. Orlandella was in federal court in Boston Monday and has a probable cause hearing Friday.

Orlandella is an assistant chief probation officer for Lynn District Court.

Court documents say that in May a mother in Texas told local police about messages she found on her 13-year-old daughter's cell phone between herself and a man identified as Orlandella. The messages were sent via Kik and showed Orlandella sending images of himself masturbating and told her to send naked pictures and videos in return. The girl told told Orlandella she was 14, and he said he was much older, according to the documents.

The Kik account's IP address was traced back to Orlandella’s Beverly residence. Law enforcement searched his place Monday morning and seized phones that are being analyzed.
