Beverly Man, 23, Drowns In Hamilton Pond

Foul play is not suspected in the death of the Joshua Robinson, who drowned in Gravelly Pond in Hamilton.

BEVERLY, MA — A spokeswoman for the Essex County District Attorney's office said Wednesday that the man who died in Gravelly Pond in Hamilton was Joshua Robinson, 23, of Home Street in Beverly. Hamilton police and fire were called to the pond around 2 p.m. Tuesday where they found Robinson floating in 6 feet of water about 35 feet from the shore. Foul play was not suspected in the drowning, Essex County DA spokeswoman Carrie Kimball said.

Robinson was taken to Beverly Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"We urge members of the public to exercise caution when recreating on or near water," Hamilton Police Chief Russell Stevens said in a statement.
