Detours Resume For Downtown Beverly Intersection Work

BEVERLY, MA — More road closures are coming to the intersection of Cabot Street and Rantoul Street starting Sunday night.

The state Department of Transportation said the intersection near the Essex Bridge will have lane restrictions and detours starting Sunday at 8 p.m. and concluding Monday morning at 5. They will continue the next night into Tuesday morning.

• Northbound traffic traveling from the bridge will not be allowed to turn onto Water Street or Cabot Street; drivers will be detoured further up Rantoul Street then onto Edwards Street to get back onto Cabot Street and then Stone Street if needed.
• Northbound traffic traveling from the bridge will be reduced to one lane.
• Goat Hill Lane will also be temporarily closed through the night and traffic will be detoured onto Summit Avenue/Cox Court.

These closures are to allow for paving operations.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.

The work is being conducted as part of a $6.3 million project for intersection improvements and perform related work along on this section of Cabot Street.
