Driver Arrested After Hitting Two Pedestrians In Beverly
Beverly Police say Stephen G. Hendricks, 24 of Boxford, was drunk at the time of Thursday night's crash.

BEVERLY, MA -- A 19-year-old and a 56-year-old woman were taken to Beverly Hospital after being at the intersection of Cabot Street and Winter Street in Beverly around 9 pm Thursday night. Police responding to the crash noticed a car with heavy front-end damage and arrested its operator, Stephen G. Hendricks, 24 of Boxford.
Hendricks was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning on charges operating under the influence of liquor causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a crosswalk violation. In a statement Friday morning, Beverly Police said the condition of the two injured woman was unknown.
On Thursday night, Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur posted on social media that the "injuries are serious but don’t appear to be life threatening." He also asked any witnesses to the accident to contact the Beverly Police Department.
