Elderly Woman Hit By Car In Beverly

BEVERLY, MA -- An elderly woman was hit by and trapped under a car on Rantoul Street in Beverly Friday afternoon. The woman was conscious when rescue personnel arrived and transported to Beverly Hospital. She was later taken by helicopter to a Boston-area hospital, according to Beverly Police.

The driver, who remained on scene, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
