Endicott Announces High School Art Competition Award Winners

Beverly, MA - Endicott College School of Visual and Performing Arts announces the winners of the High School Art Competition, 2014.  The exhibition at Endicott College Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts, 376 Hale Street, Beverly  is on view until April 23. On Thursday evening March 13 a reception and awards ceremony was held to celebrate the 46  participants and the award winners.  Students, parents, friends, high school art teachers, along with college administrators and faculty enjoyed a complete evening that started with an Endicott Singers Performance and followed by the announcements of the awards. Al Miner, Curator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Dean Mark Towner made their choices for the award winners of the 3rd Annual High School Art Competition at Endicott College.    

The following students received awards:

  Best in Show, Maureen Usovicz, Salem, Landmark School,  Beverly

  Excellence in Ceramics & Glass, Madeline E. Thomas, Beverly High School

  Excellence in Drawing, Stavroula Tzortzis, Lynn Classical High School

  Excellence in Painting, Ava Screnci, Covenant Christian Academy

  Excellence in Photography, Marguerite Mullen, Waring School

  Excellence in Bok Arts and Paper Craft, Aaron Greiner, Waring School

  Excellence in Sculpture, Benjamin Sword, St. John’s Preparatory School

  Dean’s Choice, Abigail Lacey, Pentucket Regional High School

  Honorable Mention, Zachary Wipff, New England Academy   

Participating High Schools were:  Amesbury High School, Beverly High School, Bishop Fenwick High School, Covenant Christian Academy, Danvers High School, Hamilton Wenham Regional High School, Ipswich High School, Landmark School, Lynn Classical High School, Lynn English High School, Manchester-Essex Regional High School, Masconomet Regional High School, Melrose High School, New England Academy, Newburyport High School, Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School, Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Pentucket Regional, Pingree School, Revere High School, Salem High School, George Washington University Online High School, St. John’s Preparatory School and the Waring School.
