Endicott College's Stadium Named for Alumna Melissa Hempstead
At Homecoming Weekend, Endicott College named its stadium for Melissa Hempstead from the Class of 1969.
Beverly, MA --On Saturday, October 3rd Endicott College’s stadium was dedicated to alumna, Melissa Hempstead from the graduating class of 1969. The stadium will now be known as Hempstead Stadium.
Hempstead Stadium is the home to Endicott’s football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s rugby teams. It also hosts sports teams from the community and area.

Melissa serves as the Vice Chair on Endicott’s Board of Trustees and is a strong philanthropic supporter of the College. She is an active alumni volunteer helping to encourage alumni engagement with the College in many ways. She is the Owner of Coralberry Cottage in Mount Pleasant, SC.

According to President Richard E. Wylie, “We are so pleased that Melissa has leant her name to the College’s stadium. As a strong and committed alumna, she remains an advocate of growth and innovative ideas within the traditional Endicott Mission. She is a leader by example. Her energy and enthusiasm inspires us all.”
Melissa holds an Associate degree in liberal studies from Endicott College, a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master’s degree in special education from LSU in New Orleans.
Melissa is a true lover of sports, especially football! She resides in Block Island, Rhode Island and Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
