Four People Displaced After Roof Collapse

The house can not be occupied until the wall is reinforced, and the snow is removed from the roof, according to the building inspector.

Four people were displaced from their home after a partial roof collapse early Thursday morning at 41 Cole St.

A neighbor alerted the family to the potential roof collapse around 7 Thursday morning, according to Deputy Fire Chief William Petrosino. The four people were outside of the house when Beverly firefighters arrived.

“The neighbor told them that it looked like the rear of the house was caving in,” Deputy Chief Petrosino said.

A small roof in the back of the house collapsed, and it was just enough to push an exterior wall in, according to Deputy Chief Petrosino.

The city’s building inspector was contacted. He said the house can not be occupied until the wall is reinforced, and the snow is removed from the roof.
