Get Rid of Household Hazardous Waste This Weekend

The hazardous waste collection day is open to Salem and Beverly residents.

Salem Mayor Kimberly Driscoll and the Salem Board of Health announce that the City of Salem will hold the annual Household HazardousWaste Collection day on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Salem High School, 77 Willson Street in Salem.

The hazardous waste collection day is open to Salem and Beverly residents.

The cost per car is $20, and proof of residency is required.

Salem and Beverly residents can drop off items such as motor oil, chemicals, pesticides, car batteries, propane cylinders, and tires, and paint - please note: Flourescent Bulbs and latex paint will not be accepted (air dry latex paint in cans and place in regular trash).

The quarterly E-Waste collection will also occur during this event. E-waste items include: iPods, batteries, battery back-up units, stereo equipment, car audio equipment, cell phones, digital cameras, gaming equipment, flash drives, TVs, computers, monitors and power cords. TVS, computer monitors, air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators will cost an additional $10 per item.
