Gubernatorial Candidate to Stump for City Council Candidate
The only announced Republican candidate for Massachusetts governor has an appearance planned for October with a City Council candidate.

The only declared Republican candidate for governor will come to Beverly next month to stump for a City Council candidate.
Matt St. Hilaire, who is one of five candidates for the three at-large seats on the City Council, said Wednesday that Charlie Baker will appear with him at an event at the Cove Community Center on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 12:30 p.m.
Baker, from Swampscott, is launching his second run for governor. Baker was defeated by Gov. Deval Patrick in 2010. St. Hilaire noted in his announcement that Baker defeated Patrick, a Democrat, and Independent Tim Cahill in Beverly that year.

St. Hilaire’s work with Baker goes back to the 2010 gubernatorial campaign when he worked as Baker’s field director
"I'm really excited to have Charlie coming to Beverly to support me." St. Hilaire said in Wednesday’s announcement. "Charlie Baker has a proven track record of getting results and he knows that I am someone who will be able to get things done for Beverly."

St. Hilaire faces incumbents City Council President Paul Guanci and Jason Silva and challengers Todd Murphy and Todd Rotondo.
