How to Be a Great Emcee! with Tony Toledo Storyteller at North Shore Business Forum Friday, 6/17/2016 at Acapulcos, Beverly
Tony Toledo leads an interactive workshop that will allow you to practice your emceeing skills and get instant feedback from Tony.

A good emcee (master of ceremonies) is the glue that holds an event together by giving warm introductions, keeping a close eye on the time, thanking the speaker and the audience, handling any little bumps in the road, and keeping their own ego in check but ready with a pocket full of one-minute jokes and stories to use if needed.
About the Speaker: Tony Toledo is a seasoned emcee, with experience that includes hosting the Speak Up Spoken Word Open Mic every Wednesday for seven years in Lynn, MA, and emceeing such events as the Mass Poetry Festival, storytelling concerts held at the Sharing the Fire Storytelling Conference, and the folks telling stories at his cousin John’s memorial service. Tony is the past President of the Board of Directors of LANES (League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling). He is the Game Mister at the Annual Corn Party held each August. He emcees the annual Pie Potluck Open Mic at the Beverly Public Library. Tony is 58 years old but reads at a 69-year-old level. When he is not emceeing he is telling stories to elementary students across New England. Tony has never been arrested on his birthday. Says member John King:
The Meeting After the Meeting is an opportunity for you to share with other members of the NSBF a particular skill, or to educate members about a particular program or offering that you can provide through your business. In the 20-30 minutes following a regular meeting you can:
- elaborate in-depth on your 30 second pitch
- try something new and get feedback from a small, friendly audience
- arrange follow-up discussions with the participants
If you are an NSBF member with an interest in offering your own “Meeting After the Meeting” session in the future, please see NSBF President Brett Kirkpatrick at one of our meetings, or email him at events@nsbforum.org.
