You’re Invited to Shore Country Day School’s Open House - May 1

On May 1, from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m., we invite you to experience first hand the extraordinary energy of an ordinary morning in the Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity, Shore’s ambitious new arts and innovation center located at 545 Cabot Street in Beverly.

The 30,000-square-foot Center houses the state-of-the-art 375-seat Shore Theatre, expansive art studios, music rooms and practice spaces, a digital audio production suite, and the incredible Innovation Lab, where students from every grade explore subject areas as diverse as science, history, and music through hands-on discovery and invention. During the Open House, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Enjoy a World Music concert in the Theatre
• Take in an art show
• Join a talk with young-adult author Rita Williams-Garcia
• Step into the Innovation lab and art studios
• Meet with Admissions, parents, and faculty
• Grab a free cup of coffee!

Art in the Kiva

A “Kiva” is a room used by Hopi and other Pueblo peoples for spiritual and ceremonial purposes. Shore’s Kiva is an inspiring, atrium-like gathering space and gallery where children’s artwork adorns every surface, and where community members assemble for meetings and mingle after performances.

Hands-On in the Innovation Lab

Much more than a “makerspace,” Shore’s Innovation Lab is a vital part of the curriculum that allows faculty to bring learning to life through student-led explorations in materials ranging from wood and metal to carbon fiber and circuit boards.

Inspiration in the Theatre

Drama is a required element of every Shore students’ education, and the stunning, professional-quality Theatre is an extraordinary venue for a full slate of musicals, plays, concerts, and assemblies staged nearly every week of the year.
