Kernwood Ave Drawbridge To Open Several Times On Friday

Factor this into your commute.

BEVERLY, MA – Get ready, the drawbridge over the Danvers River is about to open (not raise as some Patch readers alerted this newbie reporter) and it could impact traffic Friday. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that the Kenwood Avenue Drawbridge, which carries traffic over the Danvers River, will be opened several times for testing purposes during the day on Friday, January 19.

Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes for each opening.

These bridge openings will allow crews and contractors to test the electrical systems of the bridge which were damaged by high tides during the winter storm on January 4.
