Beverly Police Catch Man That Fled Traffic Stop

Andrew Murley, 32, was arrested Wednesday morning, a day after he fled a traffic stop in Beverly.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Police arrested a man Wednesday who had eluded them after fleeing a traffic stop one day earlier. Andrew Murley, 32, was charged with operating after license suspension, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, refusal to stop for police and several other motor vehicle infractions. He was arrested after MBTA Transit Police notified Beverly Police that there was a trespasser near the School Street overpass.

When Beverly Police arrived, they found Murley hiding in the structure. He surrendered without incident.

Murley had fled a traffic stop on Brimbal Avenue around 10:30 Tuesday morning. Beverly Police chased Murley on Route 128 south to D0dge Street. Police say Murley jumped the curb into the North Beverly Plaza and fled through the parking lot onto Tozer Road, where police lost sight of his truck.
