Man Struck by Train at Depot Has Head Injuries

A man was taken to Beverly Hospital after being struck by a train near Beverly Depot on Friday night.

A man struck by a train at Beverly Depot on Friday night suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the MBTA Transit Police.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. when a 51-year-old Beverly man trespassing on the inbound track was struck by a train, Transit Police said in a press release.

The Beverly Police and Fire Department responded as well as Northeast Regional Ambulance and treated the man for a non-life threatening head injury and minor cuts on the rest of his body. The man was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital.

The incident halted, and then later delayed, both inbound and outbound train service until about 11 p.m.

It is the second time a person has been struck by a train along the North Shore rail line in as many days. A man was struck and killed by an inbound train in Revere at about 6 p.m. on Thursday.
