Manchester Sailing Association Kicks Off Its Annual Appeal

MSA, a non-profit organization seeks donations to raise funds to support the summer sailing program. Contributions are tax-deductable.

The Manchester Sailing Association (MSA), a non-profit organization established in 1971, is conducting its annual appeal to raise funds to support the summer program. The organization requests the support of its participants, friends, and general community supporters to make a donation to cover costs to run the 2016 season beyond the operating expenses which are covered by student fees.

The sailing program, open to children age 7 and adults, is a big part of this seaside community. Whether you sail or not it embellishes the recreational activities available to Manchester residents and members of the broader North Shore community. The unique program enables individuals to experience sailing and gain access to the MSA fleet and waters of Cape Ann without a club membership. Instruction caters both serious competitors and recreational sailors alike, operating out of the beautiful Tuck’s Point it is a special resource.

The Opti and 420, Learn to Sail programs continue to be popular for the new and more experienced participants. The adult program, now in its third year, is expanding and is now a core class. The MSA Race team is a great option for kids who want to experience competitive sailing and engage in competition with friends and sailors from other programs. The program is a favorite pastime for many members of the community and anyone interested in learning to sail is encouraged to join, no prior sailing experience is required. Sailing is not only fun but a skill that will last a lifetime, in addition, it offers numerous benefits for mental and physical well-being.
