Mass Mentoring Partnership Recognizes Harvey Lowell as one of their 25 Mentors of MMP

Award recognition

On Tuesday, February 28, Harvey Lowell, President and CEO of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston (JBBBS), was recognized by Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) as one of their 25 Mentors of MMP at the organization’s 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration.

The event drew more than 300 guests to the John Joseph Moakley US Courthouse in Boston and raised more than $700,000 for Mass Mentoring Partnership to support its work to expand empowering youth-adult relationships across Massachusetts.

Since its founding in 1992, MMP has developed a strong reputation for its successful involvement in the start-up and sustainability of high-quality mentoring programs, supporting more than 250 mentoring and youth development programs statewide, and serving more than 33,000 youth in mentoring relationships.

Harvey Lowell has been especially instrumental in the shaping and continued success of MMP through his connection to Ride For Kids, the largest single-day fundraiser in the country in which participants complete a 25-, 50- or 100-mile bicycle ride through southeastern Massachusetts to raise money for at-risk children. Through his connection to Ride For Kids, Lowell helped MMP earn beneficiary status for the ride, significantly benefitting both organizations. He currently sits on Mass Mentoring's Program Leadership Council, and has served in various other board roles throughout the last two decades.

Lowell’s accomplishments for both Mass Mentoring Partnership, and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters are numerous, and have had an invaluable impact on the thousands of adults and children who have benefitted from both programs in the last quarter century.
