Massive Rummage Sale a North Shore Tradition

Shore Country Day School's annual fall Rummage Sale promises bargain hunters a treasure trove of high-quality items.

On Saturday, October 24, the public is invited to join the Shore Country Day School community and families from across the region at a massive rummage sale that’s become a North Shore tradition every fall.

Widely regarded as one of the best events of its kind north of Boston, Shore’s Rummage Sale promises shoppers a treasure trove of high-quality home décor, garden accessories, books, outerwear, sporting goods, and much more.

For generations, families of the prestigious Beverly private school have donated gently used items to be sold each year for next to nothing. Today, Shore’s Rummage Sale is renowned in the area for rewarding bargain hunters with designer goods at yard sale prices.

“Last year I met several people who have been coming to the event for over 10 years as a family tradition,” said event co-organizer and Shore parent Sarah Campbell. “They love the festive environment, and they recalled each one of the treasures they’d found over the years. I love hearing stories like this one; it’s a wonderful feeling to know you’re giving something back to the community.”

Items to be found at the sale include: men’s and women’s clothing and shoes; teen clothing; outerwear; accessories such as jewelry, belts, handbags, scarves, and luggage; sporting goods including skis, snowboards, bikes, helmets, racquets, clubs, cleats, and skates; gear for soccer, lacrosse, hockey, football, field hockey, baseball, and basketball; sports memorabilia; home décor such as mirrors, artwork, lights, linens, and kitchen and bath furnishings; bric-a-brac and decorative items; garden and yard games, accessories, and equipment; small furniture; books, board games, craft/hobby kits and music items; baked goods and snacks.

Children’s toys, clothing, and books are not offered for sale; these items will be donated by Shore to local non-profit organizations. Other items not sold by the close of the sale will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation.

The Rummage Sale runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Howard Gymnasium on Shore’s campus, at 545 Cabot Street in Beverly.
