The Cabot Theater is marking its 99th year by kicking off a year-long fundraiser leading up to its 100th anniversary.

Fall fundraising event to host performance by Michael Carbonaro of “The Carbonaro Effect”
(Beverly, MA – September 10, 2019) The Cabot is pleased to announce the official details of its fall fundraising event, “A Story Like No Other, The Cabot Turns 99” on Saturday, October 19th.

Proceeds directly benefit The Cabot 100 capital campaign, which aims to raise $6.8 million to complete the renovations culminating in The Cabot’s 100th birthday year-long events and parties in 2020.
The Cabot Turns 99 will feature a performance from magician Michael Carbonaro of “The Carbonaro Effect,” in addition to paying tribute to Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company, which performed at The Cabot for over 35 years, becoming the world’s longest running stage magic show that included White House appearances and features in TIME, Smithsonian and National Geographic World. The evening will also pay tribute to Steve Dodge, businessman, trustee, and “Cabot champion,” who passed away earlier this year.

“Only about 1% of similar movie palaces still exist out of theaters built in the 1920s. As we inch even closer to our 100th anniversary, we are even more conscious of this and its significance,” said J. Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot. “This year’s event is about commemorating the many that have allowed us to reach this incredible milestone and have been so integral to The Cabot’s success.”
There are two types of tickets available for purchase for the evening: VIP and performance only. Tickets for Michael Carbonaro performance only can be purchased online at TheCabot.org or at The Cabot box office. VIP tickets include a premium orchestra seat for the performance but also an invitation to the pre-show party, which is a fundraiser for The Cabot 100 campaign.
