Montserrat College of Art showcase at the State House

Montserrat College of Art will have a display of Alumni and Trustee artwork on display at the Massachusetts State House through September.

BEVERLY – Montserrat College of Art was chosen by State Sen. Joan Lovely to display an art exhibit at the Massachusetts State House July through September. The artists in the exhibit, in Senate Conference Room 428, include alumni Robert Manson (’15), Michelle McGaughey (’14), Dino Rowan (’16), Chris Stepler (’09), Phoebe Warner (’15) the late Bettie Hamilton (’79), Montserrat Trustee Judith Schmid and Founding Faculty, the late Oliver Balf.

The Opening Reception on July 18, 2018 launched the exhibition which will be on display through Sept. 12. In attendance were Sen. Lovely, State Rep. Jerry Parisella, Montserrat President Kurt Steinberg, and several Statehouse and Montserrat staff and faculty. The group was also honored to be invited into the Senate Chambers and introduced as Senator’s Lovely’s distinguished guests.

“It is a great honor to have the work of our alumni and Trustee Judy Schmid displayed in the Statehouse for the benefit of everyone that works and visits,” said President Kurt Steinberg. “The opportunity to show the depth and breadth of the creativity at Montserrat College of Art at the Statehouse is overwhelming for those involved. We are very grateful for the ability to let people see the great things happening at Montserrat College of Art and the North Shore. A special thank you to Senator Joan Lovely and her staff for helping create this great moment for the college.”
