Nancy Frates to speak at Beverly Bootstraps' 25th Anniversary event

Beverly Bootstraps will hold a special event in honor of their 25th Anniversary on Tuesday, May 23, from 8:00-10:00am: Nancy Frates & the Power of Community; an Inspirational Breakfast Talk during which Nancy Frates will tell her engaging story of finding courage in the face of adversity and inspiring not only this community, but also the entire nation.

Mrs. Frates was the driving force behind the Ice Bucket Challenge which raised $115M for the ALS Assciation, a cause to which she has been devoted since her son Pete was diagnosed with ALS five years ago at the age of 27. She will relate her emotional yet hopeful journey and how giving back gives her a purpose that has led to positivity in difficult times.

Tickets for the 25 for 25 Raffle, with a special 25th Anniversary prize of 25 gift cards from local businesses, each worth $25 or more, will be available at the event. They can also be pre-purchased online for those that can’t make the event – the winner does not need to be present to win.

Held at the Cabot Theatre, 286 Cabot Street in Beverly, the event will begin with breakfast and coffee. Mrs. Frates will then take the stage. Her powerful talk will be followed by the drawing of the raffle winner, and the morning will close with a short program by the Beverly High School Choral Ensemble.
