This past Friday, February 12, North Shore Community Baptist Church and Boston North Shore Young Life hosted Night to Shine, a prom for people with special needs. Night to Shine welcomed the guests with a red carpet, cheering crowd and friendly paparazzi and, once inside, delivered the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining stations, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room and, of course, dancing. The highlight of the night came when each guest was crowned king or queen of the prom.
The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsored this unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs in more than 200 churches in 48 states and seven countries simultaneously on February 12, from 6-9 pm.
Night to Shine in Beverly welcomed 96 honored guests and their parents and caregivers. Over 150 volunteers from North Shore Community Baptist Church, Young Life, Gordon College and the community, worked to make the evening special. North Shore Community College Cosmetology Program ran a free beauty clinic for prom guests on Friday afternoon. Giblee’s Menswear in Danvers provided one lucky guest will a free tuxedo rental.
