Drug Trends in the Communtiy: The Downward Slide of Substance Use and Abuse in Adolescence
Substance use and abuse among young adults and adolescents is growing.
District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett will be one of the speakers at a community program for parents, guardians, middle and high school students at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 at Beverly High School, 100 Sohier Road, Beverly.

The event will be hosted by the Mayor’s Office, the School and Police Departments. It was organized in response to growing overdose numbers. Governor Charlie Baker recently announced alarming numbers concerning fatal overdoses.
- Learn first hand about the challenges students are facing today around drug and substance use and abuse.
- Listen to local experts and understand how each municipal department is dealing with these issues.
- We need community effort and collaboration among all stakeholders to help teens make good decisions around substance issues.
Refreshments will be provided by the Citywide PTSO.
