Obituary: Arlene D. Wallace; Registered Nurse, Worked in Emergency Rooms at Beverly and Framingham Hospitals

Outstanding quilter, and also enjoyed knitting, baking, dancing, music, and art.

Arlene D. Wallace, 79, beloved wife of Edgar W. Wallace, passed away on Sunday, May 17th at the Herrick House surrounded by her family. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Kellough) Burnett.

Arlene grew up in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1953. She then attended The Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing, graduating in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. Arlene worked in the emergency rooms at Framingham and Beverly Hospitals for many years, and then went on to Beverly Surgical Associates where she eventually retired.

Arlene met her husband Ed soon after graduating, when they were both in a bridal party. Together, Ed and Arlene traveled the world and raised three children. Arlene was an outstanding quilter, and also enjoyed knitting, baking, dancing, music, and art. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and special grandmother.

In addition to her husband Edgar, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage, she is survived by three children: Deborah Wallace of Beverly, Stephanie Levy and her husband Neal of Beverly and Scott Wallace of Diamond Head, Mississippi; one sister: Cynthia Champa of Lynn; and six grandchildren: Matthew and Brian Clarizia, Alison Levy, Tyler Levy and his fiancée Monica Adler and Ian and Mason Wallace; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Nancy Burke.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant Street, Beverly on Thursday at 11:00 A.M.
