Barbara L. Hennessey, 77, beloved wife of Donald F. Hennessey, passed away Wednesday, April 15th at her home. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, she is the daughter of the late William and Barbara (Kutik) Toomey.
Barbara grew up in Paterson, New Jersey and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School. After marrying her husband Donald in 1955, Barbara moved to Beverly and has lived here ever since.

For many years she worked as a switchboard operator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and worked for 15 years at Beverly Savings Bank. Barbara was a die hard Red Sox Fan, and would watch the game every night on television. She was a loving person, and welcomed everyone into her home. Barbara most of all, just enjoyed being with her family.
In addition to her husband Donald, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, she is survived by three children: Dan Hennessey and his wife Carol of Danvers, Terry Hennessey and his wife Julie of Beverly and Donna Sequeira and her husband Vincent of Haverhill; twelve grandchildren: Erin Cullen and her husband Sean, Megan Taylor and her husband Steve, Daniel J. Hennessey, Rachel Rojas and her husband Roy, Patrick W. Hennessey, Matthew Herlihy, Meaghan Tipton, Kyle Tipton and his wife Mirem, Zachary, Seth, Nathan and Shawn Sequeira; two great grandchildren: Alex Cullen and Myleigh Taylor; nieces and nephew: Sharon Clark and her husband Larry , Robert Toomey and his wife Linda and Jane McCleerey and her husband Dan; and former son-in-law Paul Herlihy. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Slick.
