Obituary: Daniel J. Vitale, 45; Gifted Musician, He Was a Fixture at the Beverly Homecoming Festival For 25 Years

One of his proudest moments was winning the International Rhythm & Blues Talent Competition in Memphis, Tenn.

Daniel J. Vitale, 45, beloved husband of Stacey (Shipp) Vitale, passed away on Sunday, May 10th at Beverly Hospital. Born in Beverly, he is the son of the late Joseph D. and Kathleen Madeline (Kingston) Vitale. Danny had such a love for his mother and her loss was immeasurable. His family takes great comfort knowing he passed on Mother’s Day.

Daniel grew up in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1987.

Daniel had a remarkable natural talent and was a gifted musician. He was a fixture at the Beverly Homecoming Festival, playing his very own various original acts for the last 25 years. Homecoming will never be the same. One of his proudest moments was winning the International Rhythm & Blues Talent Competition in Memphis, Tennessee, fronting the band, The Movers.

In addition to his high school sweetheart and wife of 14 years, he is survived by his only sister: Johanna (Vitale) Main who were as close as siblings could ever be; and Johanna’s husband Todd of Beverly, Todd’s Mother Beth Pinanski; He was a very proud uncle to Madeline, Gary, Joseph, Todd, Jr., Joshua and Jolie Main; two uncles: Gerald “Skip” Kingston and his wife Laurie of Salem, Gregory Clark of Georgetown and a loving extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends. He also leaves behind his own ‘kids”, Little Sal, Baby and Buddy. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law: Gary Main and his aunt: Dawn “Twinkle” Clark.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Immanual Congregational Church, 140 Bridge Street, Beverly on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in North Beverly Cemetery.
