Ted’s pride and joy was his family’s historical connection to Beverly, which dates back to the seventeenth century. He was most proud of his twenty year stint as producer/director, along with co-director Richard Symmes of BevCam, the city’s local cable access station, of “Beverly Times Past.” The show, which began in the 1980s, was based on documents and photos from the Beverly Historical Archives as well as personal interviews and newspaper articles, and photos from private collections. The series has since been converted to DVDs and is now part of the permanent collection of the Beverly Public Library and the Beverly Historical Society.

In addition to his historical interests and care for challenged children, Ted was an avid Boston sports fan. He also loved reading and music, and prior to his illness, frequently attended B.S.O. concerts.
