Obituary: Lois (Wilks) Hopkins, Began a Career in Elder Services After Raising Her Children

Lois (Wilks) Hopkins, 84, of Beverly, beloved wife of the late Donn Hopkins, died May 4th, 2015 after a brief illness.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Ethel P. and Herbert E. Wilks, she was raised and educated in Westfield, New Jersey and was a graduate of Endicott College, class of 1951.

Mrs. Hopkins was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated the early portion of her life to raising her family. When her children were older, she began a career in Elder Services. She was employed as a volunteer coordinator for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years. Later in life she enjoyed working as a guide at the Salem Witch Museum.
After raising their family in Hamilton, Lois and Donn lived in Danvers for several years before she moved to Turtle Creek in Beverly, where she enjoyed spending time with many friends. Devoted to her family, Lois loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was extremely proud of all their endeavors and accomplishments. She was a long time member of the First Church in Wenham. She was dedicated to her family and her faith. She will be deeply missed.

Lois is survived by her daughters Sherry Maddock of Danvers and Diane Corrao and her husband Kelly of Essex, her son Stephen Hopkins and his wife Lauren of Beverly, and grandchildren Stephen and Amanda Maddock, Abby and Michael Corrao, and Ashley, Courtney and Kailey Hopkins.
