Obituary: Madeline (Hobbs) Davis, Loving Mother and Grandmother

She had been employed with the New England Telephone Co. for many years. She also had been employed with the Kellogg Cereal Co.

Madeline (Hobbs) Davis, 82, of Beverly, died Sunday, Morning, May 17th, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Loretta (Hosman) Hobbs. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1948.

Mrs. Davis had been employed with the New England Telephone Company for many years. She also had been employed with the Kellogg Cereal Company as an assembler and also Grants Department Store as a clerk.

A resident of the City of Beverly for over 35 years, Madeline, was an active member of the Beverly Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, Knitting but most important in her life was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Madeline is survived by her daughters, Donna Fitzgerald and her husband Rick of Beverly, Lorrie Goudreau of Peabody, Paula Schena and her husband Ralph of Gonic, N.H., Maddy Davis of Beverly and Kathleen Davis of Beverly, her grandchildren, Karrie O’Regan of Peabody, Danielle Goudreau of Everett, Kristin Park of Peabody, Christopher and Jennifer Schena of Gonic N.H., Katie Symonds of Peabody, Samantha Nelson of Beverly, Gina Davis of Beverly, Sonny and Jacob Ricker of Beverly, 11 great grandchildren, her sister Dolores Gray of Beverly, several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lincoln “Sonny” Davis III and Sister of the late George Hobbs Jr., and mother-in-law to the late Richard Goudreau.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Thursday, May 21st at 10:15 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Beverly at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours, Wednesday, May 20th from 4 to 8 P.M.
