Obituary: Phyllis Sullivan, Member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Women's Guild at Saint Mary's

Lifelong communicant at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Parish

Phyllis Sullivan, 93, beloved wife of Henry F. Sullivan, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, passed away Sunday, February 8th at Hathorne Hill in Danvers, surrounded by her family. Born in Beverly, she is the daughter of the late Harry B. and Sarah E. (Michaels) Payne.

Mrs. Sullivan was a life long resident of Beverly, and a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1938. She worked as a clerk at the First National Store, and also as a devoted wife and mother to her three children. Mrs. Sullivan was a lifelong communicant at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Parish, a member or the Daughters of Isabella and the Women’s Guild at Saint Mary’s. She enjoyed square dancing, camping and hiking, exercising at the YMCA and the Senior Lunches.

In addition to her husband Henry, she is survived by her three children: Mary Ellen Gallo and her husband John of Glen, New Hampshire, Henry Sullivan, Jr., and his wife Colleen of Beverly and Peter Sullivan and his wife Terry of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire; six grandchildren: Cindy Gallo Tamillio and her husband John III of Beverly, Deborah Gallo of Beverly, John Sullivan and his wife Carolyn of Peabody, Jeffrey Sullivan and his girlfriend Andrea Ross of Danvers, Christian Mason of Rowley, and Corrine Mason of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; nine great grandchildren: Emily and Natalie Mellinger, Ryan and Jonathan Kalampalikis, Jackie Rose, Mason and Logan Myslievy and Morgan Annie and Grace Phyllis Sullivan; along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Evelyn Dionne.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Parish, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly on Thursday at 10:00 A.M Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
