Raymond W. Lohnes, a true gentleman, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 28, surrounded by his family and friends at Emeritus, at Cherryhill.
A long time Beverly resident he graduated Beverly H. S. and Fitchburg State University. He was co- owner of F&L Construction Co. prior to his teaching career at Claude H. Patton Trade School. He was a decorated Veteran of W.W. II where he served in the European Theater in one of the Army Air Corps. B24 Bomber Squadrons.

Ray was married to Barbara F. Connolly from 1945 until her death in 1964 and Barbara J. Scott St. Charles from 1969 until her death in 2007. Ray was predeceased by his brothers Irving Lohnes and Donald F. Lohnes. He is survived by his brothers Edward (Bud) Lohnes and Daniel Lohnes, his sons Donald J. Lohnes and his wife Terry, William R. Lohnes and his wife Andrea, daughters Judi Odiorne and Claudia and her husband Ken Pelonzi. He will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Wednesday, March 4, at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday, prior to the Service from 11 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
