Obituary: Thomas E. Dix, Mechanical Engineer and Avid Sportsmen
North Shore Rod & Gun Club 1987 Sportsman of the Year, and the League of Essex County Sportsmens Clubs 1997 Sportsman of the Year.

Thomas E. Dix, 74, beloved husband of the late Kathleen J. Dix, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage, passed away Thursday, March 12 at his home. Born in Beverly, he is the son of the late George and Eleanor (Stanley) Dix.
Tom grew up in Prides Crossing, was a graduate of St. John Preparatory School in Danvers, class of 1958, and served in the US Navy from 1958-1961.

He was employed with Communications & Power Industries’ Beverly Microwave Division from 1966 until his retirement from mechanical engineering in 2007. In 1980 he earned an Associate Degree in Science in Electro-Mechanical Technology from North Shore Community College. Tom was the North Shore Rod & Gun Club 1987 Sportsman of the Year, and the League of Essex County Sportsmens Clubs 1997 Sportsman of the Year. He volunteered for many years with the Hamilton/Wenham Rod & Gun Club at the Topsfield Fair.
Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed. He is survived by four children: Lisa Muliawan and her spouse Robby of Pennsylvania, Stephen Dix and his spouse Patti of New Hampshire, Lauren Dix and her partner Steve Thompson of Colorado and Matthew Dix and his girlfriend Nichelle Whalen of Beverly; one sister Kathleen Parker of New Hampshire; many grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

His funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
